A little about us

About the community trust

Dover Athletic Community Trust is a registered charity (charity number 1179651) that is affiliated with Dover Athletic Football Club. The Trust was established in 2018 with the aim to:

  • Promote health and wellbeing through sport and physical activity for people of all ages.
  • Engage and inspire the local community, fostering inclusion and social cohesion.
  • Support education and personal development by delivering programs that build skills and confidence.
  • Provide opportunities for disadvantaged groups, ensuring football and related activities are accessible to everyone.

Dover Athletic Community Trust also works closely with and supports the Dover Athletic Youth Section, to give children the opportunity to access competitive football.  Over the past season we have worked together to create and expand our girls’ football provision from 1 competitive team in the 2024/25 season to 6 girls’ teams in the current 2025/26 season.

What we can offer

Building communities through football

Football isn’t just a sport—it’s a powerful social tool for bringing people together. Across cultures and generations, the game has been used to strengthen bonds, create opportunities, and foster a sense of belonging. From participating to spectating, volunteering to delivering sessions, football has a place for everyone and anyone who wants to be involved.

As a Community Trust, we actively seek opportunities to create and implement sustainable projects that benefit not only our football community but the wider community our club serves.

A COMMUNITY CLUB

at Dover Athletic Football Club

Dover Athletic Community Trust is a key part of the community here in Dover and we work alongside our parent club, Dover Athletic to deliver recreational and youth opportunities into football.

Community Days

visit one of our community days

Dover Athletic Community Days are special events with family-friendly activities like children’s discos, face painting, live music, and mascot appearances. In partnership with the main club sponsor, Megger, we are able to distribute free tickets to local schools and community groups. These events also partner with charities, such as the local food bank, to encourage food donations, and feature opportunities for fans to meet players after the game. Updates on our next Community Day, will be available soon.

Participant Feedback

I’d only moved to the area about 8 months before and barely new anybody local. I’d suffered from several health issues that meant I was overweight and struggled for energy to the extent it affected my work and home life. I’ve been doing walking football for several months now and I’ve made new friends, lost a bit of weight and have gained in energy and health to a point I am back to work and flourishing.

Walking Football

Has been an amazing experience for me. Never thought I would kick a football again and now thinking about trials for Dover Great bunch of lads, fantastic camaraderie and always come home with a glow and a smile on my face. Best thing I have done in years.

Walking Football

I've been with this group many years and would like to thank all those that have administered and coached a 78 year old to keep playing and enjoying being with all those that take part. I recommend this group for all those who would like to continue to play football in an non-competitive way
